These programs engage students and faculty through the regional and thematic lenses of International Studies, but teachers of humanities, social sciences, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects will find them valuable. CGS and JSIS programs are fundamentally interdisciplinary, blending elements of contemporary global issues, geography, government and civics, history, literature, religion, science, and world languages into a cohesive framework.<\/p>\n<p>K-12 educators are able to earn Washington State OSPI clock hours at many of the workshops and seminars. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">event calendar<\/a>\u00a0contains all upcoming JSIS events that may be of interest to elementary, middle and high school teachers, as well as community college instructors.
