There were protests against the government at the time, and we decided to photograph the marches – this photo actually came from my test shots as I was setting up for the protesters to go by. “I’m here in Lisbon studying Portuguese on a summer FLAS<\/a> award and one of the first things I did was rent a bike to explore the city (i.e., get lost). This photo was taken in the Alfama neighborhood – one of the oldest districts in Lisbon and my favorite area so far.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n
