The Center for West European Studies and EU Center offer various opportunities for student funding. Students are encouraged to apply to the following:

Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships
These fellowships are provided by the U.S. Federal Government and offered by CWES to encourage UW graduate, undergraduate and professional students to study or conduct research in Arabic, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Swedish, Turkish, (French, German, and Spanish for Graduate Students only).

European Union Graduate Research Grants
The EU Center offers research grants of varying amounts for UW graduate students working on EU topics for the spring and/or summer.

Graduate Research Workshop on the European Union
This workshop is an annual event which gives graduate students studying in the United States an opportunity to present their research on the European Union. The workshop takes place at the University of Washington each April/May.
