The Center for West European Studies and the EU Center are both housed in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington.
The Center for West European Studies was founded in 1994, and is one of eleven federally funded National Resource Centers for European or West European Studies in the United States. The Center’s interdisciplinary programs work to advance its mission of enhancing the quality of teaching and research on West European politics, society, and culture through outreach to universities, business, the general public, and the K-14 community. More information on this Center can be found here.
Generously funded by a prestigious grant from the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Programme, the CWES-affiliated EU Center of Excellence originated in 1998, and is well-known for its activities that promote meaningful teaching, outreach, and research programs in the study of European Union institutions and policies, and transatlantic relations. More information on this Center can be found here.
