University of Washington students have the chance to spend a semester or a year studying in one of Britain’s most beautiful cities at one of the UK’s best universities. Selected by the Sunday Times as Best Campus University 2014 and 1st for Student Satisfaction according to the National Student Survey, the University of Bath regularly ranks in the top ten of British Universities. In the 2013, Sunday Times University Guide, Bath was ranked third among UK universities, behind only Oxford and Cambridge.

UW students participating in the UW-Bath exchange will be based in the Bath's Department of Politics, Language and International Studies (PoLIS) for a semester or year. Their studies at Bath can include an additional two courses from some of the university’s highly-ranked programs, including:

Students on the exchange enroll in Bath courses and study alongside their UK peers, experiencing British student life like a local. Students have the option of living in single-room dorms or in off-campus private accommodations. The EU Center of Excellence and University of Bath will help students arrange their academic course of study and campus housing.

Students on the UW-Bath exchange pay their home tuition (1.5 quarters for each semester), and also maintain their UW enrollment status while on the exchange. This allows students to maintain their UW financial aid status and also makes them eligible for certain grants and fellowships. Coursework taken at Bath is transferred back to the UW upon the completion of the program.

Bath not only boasts a top university, it is also one of the most beautiful cities in Britain. From the ancient Romans to the elite of Georgian Britain, the city has attracted travelers eager to enjoy its soothing mineral baths, charming architecture, and picturesque location. It’s no surprise that Jane Austen made the city her home, or that the UN declared it a World Heritage Site. While intimate and accessible in size, Bath boasts excellent shopping and dining, and is minutes from the major city of Bristol and just over an hour from London by train.

The UW-Bath exchange offers students the flexibility of studying at different times during the year. Students can choose to study in Fall Semester (September - January ), Spring Semester (February - May), or the full academic year. For students interested in going to Bath for Fall Semester or for the full academic year (Fall Semester and Spring Semester) please fill out this program application. The application deadline is March 1, 2015.

For students interested in going to Bath for Spring Semester only, please fill out this application. Spring Semester 2016 at the University of Bath runs from February 3 to May 30. The application deadline is October 1, 2015.
