Costs<\/h2>\n

The Executive Master in Applied International Studies is a self-sustaining, fee-based program offered by the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies and supported by UW Continuum College. Instructional fees are charged on a per-credit basis and are the same for resident (Washington state), nonresident and international students.<\/p>\n

Below are the instructional fees for the program for 2023\u20132024. All fees are subject to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

In addition to instructional costs, students pay required university fees each quarter, including registration and technology fees. Note that total tuition and fees vary by quarter according to the number of credits taken.<\/p>\n

All UW students are required to have health insurance. See the domestic student health insurance<\/a> or the international student health insurance<\/a> pages for more information.<\/p>\n

Financial Aid<\/h2>\n

Students in fee-based programs who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents can apply for various forms of financial aid to help cover their educational costs, including federal financial aid, scholarships and loans.<\/p>\n

For autumn quarter, many scholarship deadlines occur in late autumn or early winter. We encourage you to apply early for funding, even if you don\u2019t know your application status.<\/em><\/p>\n

You can also learn more about scholarship opportunities from the Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships & Awards<\/a>, which offers information and resources about student scholarships and mentors students through the various application processes.<\/p>\n

Students in fee-based programs are not eligible for tuition exemptions or university grants.<\/p>\n

International students are eligible for some financial assistance programs. Contact International Student Services<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n

Some employers will cover all or part of the cost of a professional education. Check with your employer to see if such a program is available.<\/p>\n

Fellowships & Assistantships<\/h2>\n

A limited number of EMIS fellowships will be awarded to student applicants who demonstrate the greatest potential to make a significant and unique contribution to the program. These are merit-based scholarships; every applicant who applies by the regular deadline and is offered admission to the program is automatically considered.<\/p>\n

EMIS students are eligible to apply for assistantship opportunities in UW departments across campus. Contact the administrative office within an individual department to learn about assistantship opportunities. EMIS students should be eligible for the assistantship, unless the job posting specifically states that it is for tuition-based programs only. Note that assistantships may vary in terms of coverage of student fees.<\/p>\n

Teaching<\/h2>\n

University of Washington policy does not allow our program to offer Teaching or Research Assistantships. However, a limited number of EMIS students may be offered opportunities to teach courses in the program and be compensated.<\/p>\n
