Proposals from faculty, K-12 educators, graduate students and members of the general public are all welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Contributions are encouraged on area studies, literature, the fine arts, the environment, post-Soviet foreign policy, historical research, economics, national identity or any other relevant subjects. The conference will also feature a track for K-12 educators teaching area languages at the K-12 level. Presentations on best practices, curriculum and other relevant issues regarding instruction of area languages at the K-12 level are especially welcome. K-12 educators are not required to submit a paper, but must submit an abstract by the\u00a0January 21\u00a0deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Small travel stipends may be available to graduate students, educators and faculty traveling from the Pacific Northwest.
