The Ellison Center for Russian, East European, and Central Asian Studies and the Jackson School of International Studies are proud to again sponsor films at this year\u2019s Seattle International Film Festival.<\/a> The festival, now in its 43rd year, features more than 400 films from 80 countries and attracts thousands of attendees. SIFF 2017 runs 25 days from May 18 to June 11.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To help moviegoers navigate the huge number of films being screened this year, the Ellison Center has created a webpage\u00a0that lists all of the films from the REECAS region<\/a> that will be shown during SIFF. The list can also be found at the bottom of this page.<\/p>\n

This year, the Ellison Center is looking forward to the highly acclaimed \u201cZoology\u201d by Russian filmmaker Ivan Tverdovsky. The film tells the story of a lonely, middle-aged woman who works in administration at a zoo where her co-workers play pranks on her. One day, Natasha discovers that she has grown a tail. During a medical examination, she befriends a young radiologist who changes her life.<\/span><\/p>\n
