Winning syllabi will be posted online and student evaluations will be required after the course is taught.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note that courses or modules must be offered within two years of grant application. For a list of grant proposal criteria and definitions, please click <a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/ellisoncenter\/curriculum-development-grant-definitions\/\">here<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Application Instructions<\/h2>\n<p>To apply, please send a maximum four page (excluding attachments) application to Ellison Center Managing Director Philip Lyon (plyon@uw.edu) that addresses the following:<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Personal and Departmental Information\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"a\">\n<li>Name of applicant<\/li>\n<li>Department\/Discipline<\/li>\n<li>Contact information (email, telephone)<\/li>\n<li>Applicant&#8217;s signature<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Project Scope\n<ol start=\"a\" type=\"a\">\n<li>If a new course, indicate such as well as course number and title<\/li>\n<li>If a complete revision of an existing course, indicate such as well as course number and title<\/li>\n<li>If a new module added to an existing course, indicate such as well as course number, title, and unit topic<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Project Proposal (two pages)\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"a\">\n<li>Description of content<\/li>\n<li>When the new course\/revised course\/module will be taught<\/li>\n<li>Statement of learning objectives\/outcomes<\/li>\n<li>Outline of classroom methodologies and activities\/out of class assignments\/experiential components<\/li>\n<li>List of products proposed (for example: syllabus, handouts, student activity materials, pre- and post-tests, maps, charts, study guides, articles, review questions)<\/li>\n<li>Explanation of how the proposed project internationalizes the curriculum on your campus<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Additional Required Materials (attachments)\n<ol start=\"a\" type=\"a\">\n<li>Email from Divisional Dean to indicate proposal approval and confirmation that proposed course or module will be offered within two years.<\/li>\n<li>Applicant C.V.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>This grant views Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia in broad terms.<\/strong>\u00a0Applicable countries include the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia), the Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia), as well as Romania, Bulgaria, \u00a0Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Moldova. In Central Asia, applicable countries include the Caucausus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) as well as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,\u00a0Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan)<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"app-detail\" style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em>The application period is now closed and will reopen in Fall 2018.<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>All applications\u00a0will be scored by a committee made up of UW faculty and administrators.\u00a0Applicants will be notified of the results of their application by email.<\/h3>\n<h3>The Russian, East European and Central Asian Curriculum Studies Development Grant is an initiative from Ellison Center funded by the U.S. Department of Education.<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The application period is now closed and will reopen in Fall 2018.
