Seonhee Kim is interested in studying political economy, and state-society relationships in the post-socialist states. Particularly her research focuses on examining the state-society relationship in Russia and the impact of ideational factors on the political economic system in post-socialist nations. Her primary foundational field at JSIS is SMS (States, Markets and Societies). Prior to the admittance to Jackson school Ph.D. program, she received her B.A. from Incheon University (Russian Trade and Commerce) and M.A. from Seoul National University (International Relations) from her home country, South Korea.
