We\u2019re excited to announce the release of Peter Hessler\u2019s<\/strong> much-anticipated new book! Hessler, a seasoned journalist and gifted storyteller, draws from his experiences as a journalism teacher at Sichuan University and as a father of two young daughters attending a local elementary school. Through these perspectives, Other Rivers: A Chinese Education<\/em><\/a> <\/strong>provides a fascinating look at China’s remarkable modern transformation<\/strong>, with a special focus on the education system\u2014an essential lens for understanding the country\u2019s history, present, and future.<\/p>\n

We invited teachers to join NCTA seminar leader Tese Neighbor<\/a> and World Affairs Council Global Classroom Director Ryan Hauck<\/a> in early December for an engaging discussion of this insightful book.<\/p>\n
