Considering how COVID-19 has shifted our everyday lives, educators can encourage students to use art, writing, and self-expression in understanding their changed circumstances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As we look ahead to the future, the work of contemporary artists like Do Ho Suh and Jung Yeondoo can provide inspiration for creative responses. After learning about some of the artists featured in SAAM&#8217;s collection, participants engaged in an activity that can be adapted across K-12 classrooms. They then collaborated on ways to integrate images, videos, and activities to foster student voice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We shared in advance a list of free resources that participants can implement in remote, hybrid, or in-person classrooms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This program was sponsored by the East Asia Resource Center (EARC) in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington with funding from a Freeman Foundation grant in support of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nctasia.org\/\">National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Date and Time\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thursday, May 27, 2021; 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (Pacific Time).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This online program was held on Zoom.
