The Great Successor: The Divinely Perfect Destiny of Brilliant Comrade Kim Jong Un\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>by Anna Fifield<\/strong><\/h3>\n

How can we begin to understand the complex history of North Korea and its leader? This program dived deeper into this question by engaging in a dynamic discussion with other educators, exploring contemporary challenges facing North Korean society, and sharing diverse strategies for bringing North Korea into the classroom.<\/p>\n

This book club was led by\u00a0Tese Wintz Neighbor<\/a>\u00a0and by\u00a0Ryan Hauck<\/a>, and was open to K-12 in-service and pre-service teachers. The registration fee of $10 included a copy of the book, a light dinner, 4 clock hours, and resources.<\/p>\n

The North Korea Book Club met in\u00a0Bellingham <\/strong>and Bellevue, WA.\u00a0<\/strong>This program was sponsored by the East Asia Resource Center and the World Affairs Council<\/a> in Seattle, and funded by a Freeman Foundation grant in support of the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
