But the mixing of different cultures, religions, and languages through multiple networks of both overland and maritime trade still fascinates and inspires.\u00a0&#8221; &#8212; excerpt from the Gardner Center website.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Write about Asia<\/strong>\u00a0was offered by the East Asia Resource Center and the <a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/southhttps:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/southasia\/asia\/\">South Asia Center<\/a> at the University of Washington in conjunction with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seattleartmuseum.org\/programs-and-learning\/public-programs\/gardner-center#gar\">Seattle Asian Art Museum&#8217;s Gardner Center for Asian Art and Ideas.<\/a>\u00a0 This series was titled &#8220;<strong>Silk Roads Past and Present: Ancient Afghan Treasure to China&#8217;s Belt &amp; Road Initiative<\/strong>&#8220;.\u00a0 The workshop Write About Asia was offered following each public lecture lecture and facilitated by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/earc\/people\/mary-roberts\/\">Mary Roberts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Educators attended the public lecture from 10:00 &#8211; 11:30 a.m. and then met for a writing workshop from 11:30 a.m &#8211; 2:00 p.m.\u00a0 During the workshop, time was given to solitary writing in response to the morning lecture.
