Teachers explored current Korea issues and their background at an evening workshop with Clint Work<\/a> and Chelsea Toczauer<\/em><\/p>\n

Description<\/h2>\n

Teachers gained a better understanding of North Korea and current challenges in international affairs. Clint Work delved into the historical roots of the North Korean state, its internal mechanisms of social, political and ideological control and the development of critical issues on the Korean peninsula. A Q&A session and an exploration of available teaching resources with Chelsea Toczauer followed.<\/p>\n

Workshop speaker<\/h3>\n

Clint Work<\/a> is a Ph.D. candidate at the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington. \u00a0He is a Korean Studies specialist with a focus on 20th century and contemporary Korea as well as U.S.-Korean foreign policy. \u00a0After receiving his M.A. from the University of Chicago he worked in the International Crisis Group\u2019s Seoul office. \u00a0He writes for various publications and is the regular foreign and national security policy writer for\u00a0The Diplomat\u2019s<\/em> Koreas page.<\/p>\n
