Designed for K-12 educators who want a deeper and more thorough understanding of Japan today, \u201cWhat You Need to Know about Japan Since 1945\u201d covered the ramifications of the American occupation, the rebuilding of Japan, the miraculous growth followed by the lost decade\u00a0and how demographic and societal issues affect the country today.<\/p>\n

This workshop featured two keynote speakers, Paul Dunscomb<\/a>, Professor of East Asian History at the University of Alaska at Anchorage and Edward Mack<\/a>, Associate Professor of Japanese at the University of Washington. Their presentations were\u00a0supplemented by a\u00a0resource session on Japan.<\/p>\n
