These opportunities are available in the form of fellowships and scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Program Fellowships and Scholarships<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Below are a selection of scholarships and fellowships available from the Korea, Japan, and China Programs (click the program title for more information):<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Korea Studies Program<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/korea\/resources\/funding-opportunities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sochon Foundation Endowed Scholarship in Korea Studies<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/korea\/funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">University of Washington Korea Studies Graduate Fellowship<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Japan Studies Program<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/japan\/programs\/scholarships-and-funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ayako Betty Murakami Scholarship for Japan Studies<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/japan\/programs\/scholarships-and-funding\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kasai Buerge Scholarship in Japan Studies<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/japan\/programs\/scholarships-and-funding\/\">Kristen Kawakami Dean Fellowship in Japan Studies<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>China Studies Program<\/h3>\n<p>The China Studies program offers several fellowship opportunities. All fellowships are by faculty nomination and applications from individual students are not considered.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For more information about fellowships and funding,\u00a0 visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/advise\/funding\/\">Jackson School Funding web page.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>FLAS Fellowships<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Unfortunately, due to discontinuation of Title VI funding, we are not accepting applications for FLAS Fellowships.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Full guidelines and access to the application portal is available <a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/advise\/funding\/flas\/flas-guidelines\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Foreign Language &amp; Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships support undergraduate, graduate and professional students in acquiring modern foreign languages and area or international studies competencies. Students from all departments and professional schools are encouraged to apply. FLAS Fellowships are available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Contingent on funding from the U.S. Department of Education, the East Asia Center annually offers Academic Year and Summer FLAS Fellowships for East Asia language (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) and area studies.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">FLAS Fellows receive:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Academic Year Graduate: $18,000 tuition, $20,000 living stipend<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Academic Year Undergraduate: $10,000 tuition,$5,000 living stipend<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Summer Graduate\/Undergraduate: $5,000 tuition,$3500 living stipend<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For more information about FLAS Fellowships, visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/eacenter\/flas\/\">FLAS Fellowship Page<\/a> or contact FLAS@uw.edu.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Jackson School offers a number of opportunities for students wishing to fund their education.
