Tess Ames is the Managing Director of the Center for West European Studies and Jean Monnet European Union Center. She has a background in Cultural Studies and Education, and holds a B.A. from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. She holds an M.A. in Culture and Colonialism from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Her research has focused on human rights across colonized nations, including The United States, New Zealand, Ireland, and Mexico. She is passionate about researching the ways in which global economic policies impact access to education in colonized and ‘post-colonial’ nations.
