Tsui Hark directs the third and \u201cmost spectacular\u201d of the series about a real-life detective of the Tang dynasty. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2018\/film\/reviews\/detective-dee-the-four-heavenly-kings-review-1202886903\/\">Variety<\/a>, he delivers a \u201ctechnical and imaginative extravaganza of sleuthing, sorcery, and \u2018Game of Thrones\u2019-like power play.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The 2013 installment, <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/T7C3IJWBHrI\"><em>Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon<\/em><\/a>, is a prequel that introduces viewers to Detective Dee on the deadly mission that began it all.<\/li>\n<li>The first in the series, <em>Detective Dee: Mystery of the Phantom Flame<\/em>, is no less action-packed.
