{"id":3777,"date":"2020-02-12T18:58:25","date_gmt":"2020-02-12T18:58:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/seac\/?p=3777"},"modified":"2020-02-13T22:44:50","modified_gmt":"2020-02-13T22:44:50","slug":"flas-fellowship-competition-reopens-february-14-march-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/csead\/news\/flas-fellowship-competition-reopens-february-14-march-6\/","title":{"rendered":"FLAS fellowship competition for Undergrads reopens February 14 &#8211; March 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship (FLAS)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;font-size: 20px\"><strong>Application Period Reopened for Southeast Asia Undergraduate Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FLAS Fellowships support students from all UW departments and schools in acquiring modern foreign languages and area studies competencies.\u00a0\u00a0Eligible Undergrads who will study Intermediate or Advanced Burmese, Indonesian, Khmer, Tagalog, Thai, or Vietnamese throughout the 2020-21 academic year can receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>Academic Year Undergraduate: $10,000 tuition, $5,000 living stipend<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The FLAS <a href=\"http:\/\/db.jsis.washington.edu\/StudentApplications\/\">Fellowship application system<\/a> for this award will reopen February 14<sup>th<\/sup>. The application deadline is 5:00 pm on March 6, 2020.
