This documentary follows three former \u201ccomfort women\u201d\u2014Grandma Gil in South Korea, Grandma Cao in China, and Grandma Adela in the Philippines\u2014 who were among the 200,000 girls and young women kidnapped and forced into military sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. As they face their twilight years, they continue to fight for reconciliation, healing, and justice.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kFXkfrRsvbE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/seattleaaff.org\/2018\/films\/getting-laod-the-rise-of-modern-lao-music-and-films\/\"><strong>Getting Lao\u2019d: The Rise of Modern Lao Music and Films<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Friday Feb 23, 2018 6:30 pm,\u00a0Northwest Film Forum Screen 1<\/em><br \/>\nAfter 25 years of silence, the private Lao music and film industries are reawakening.
