Several projects focus on approaching these elements through research archives and involve collaboration with a network of international partners. Please learn more about these archival projects and our partners below.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\">UW-Luce SEA Projects<\/h1>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Critical Archival Practice Workshops\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>UW-Luce SEA\u00a0will develop a series of workshops on critical archival practice with colleagues at the <strong>Center for Khmer Studies (CKS)<\/strong>, the <strong>Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center (Bophana Center)<\/strong>, the<strong> Drug Archive at<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Ateneo de Manila School of Government (MSG)<\/strong>, and the <strong>Yangon Film School (YFS)<\/strong>. The goal is to support a network of scholars, artists, and archivists working on public memory, documentation, and reconciliation projects in Southeast Asia. The first workshop was held in Phnom Penh in June 2022 and included presentations from archivists and librarians, artists and documentarians, and researchers.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Archival Studies &#8220;Exchange&#8221; Fellowships\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>UW-Luce SEA\u00a0and its partners will establish three short-term archival studies fellowships for work in various collections, including collections at the Bophana Center, UW&#8217;s Cowell Film Archive, and UW&#8217;s Alaska Yukon Exposition materials.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Archival Fellowships at UW Libraries and Professional Southeast Asia Librarian Training Position<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>UW-Luce SEA aims\u00a0to train a new generation of Southeast Asia librarians. To that end, it will support quarter-long archival fellowships for doctoral students or recent Ph.D.s to work in the UW Libraries. Luce-SEA\u00a0will also support one Southeast Asia scholar to train at UW Libraries while attaining an MLIS degree.\u00a0<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">This\u00a0<\/span>addresses a longstanding concern within the research library community about the shortage of trained specialists in Southeast Asia studies.<\/p>\n<div title=\"Page 7\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3><strong>Undergraduate Course: Southeast Asian Pasts and Futures <\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Southeast Asian Pasts and Futures (SEAPF, pronounced \u201csea puff\u201d) brings together students to explore diasporic communities and celebrate cultural strength and resilience.<\/p>\n<p>At its core, SEAPF cohort program focuses on decolonization \u2013 transforming knowledge, institutions, and our own identities. It centers the voices and experiences of students with links to Southeast Asia and re-examines the museum and the university as spaces we may claim and transform. While the program centers on Southeast Asian identities, experiences, and heritage, it is open to all interested students.
