{"id":2123,"date":"2018-01-03T23:16:46","date_gmt":"2018-01-03T23:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/seac\/?page_id=2123"},"modified":"2022-04-27T19:52:01","modified_gmt":"2022-04-27T19:52:01","slug":"seaxsea-filmfest2018","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/csead\/seaxsea-filmfest\/seaxsea-filmfest2018\/","title":{"rendered":"2018 Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>SEAxSEA: The Southeast Asia x Seattle Film Festival<\/h2>\n<p>4:30pm-7:30pm, January 24-26, 2018<br \/>\nThomson Hall 101<\/p>\n<p>The SEAxSEA Film Festival is part of the Southeast Asia Center&#8217;s mission to actively organize Southeast Asia-related programs, and features films that explore Southeast Asia in its diversity, emphasizing underrepresented communities and youth-produced visions of the past, present, and future.<\/p>\n<p>In this, our inaugural year, we are proud to feature two full-length documentaries from\u00a0indigenous female storymakers from Southeast Asia. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/seac\/seaxsea-filmfest\/war-tender-thing\/\">War is a Tender Thing<\/a>\u201d by Adjani Arumpac features the conflict in Mindanao, Philippines, vis-a-vis her own heritage as half-Muslim and half-Christian. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/seac\/seaxsea-filmfest\/the-peace-agency\/\">The Peace Agency<\/a>\u201d examines the role that a grassroots women\u2019s organization founded by Lian Gogali\u00a0has in maintaining peace and rebuilding Poso, Indonesia.
