UW is also affiliated with several study abroad programs offered by other providers. \u00a0Recurring opportunities in Southeast Asia are listed below, but students are encouraged to search the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/studyabroad\/\">UW Study Abroad website<\/a>\u00a0for the latest information. The Southeast Asia Center also encourages students to consider other study abroad options, particular for language learning.<\/p>\n<h2>University exchange with NUS<\/h2>\n<p>UW Study Abroad facilitates an exchange with the National University of Singapore for undergraduates with Junior or Senior standing.\u00a0Exchange participants\u00a0pay an exchange fee equal to UW tuition and attend regular classes at NUS for a semester or an academic year. UW Program participants pay a program fee (in lieu of UW tuition) and take coursework and participate in field studies that focus on specific academic themes or proficiencies. Different faculty lead study abroad trips to Southeast Asia each year. Check the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/studyabroad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UW Study Abroad website<\/a>\u00a0for this year&#8217;s programs.<\/p>\n<h2>Unaffiliated Programs<\/h2>\n<p>Unaffiliated programs have no official connection to UW, but in many cases students can receive <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/studyabroad\/students\/getting-started\/programs-at-a-glance\/#independent-research\">independent learning credit<\/a> through the UW for attending these programs. Students should discuss such options with a faculty adviser and the UW Study Abroad Office.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Center for Khmer Studies &#8211; CKS offers a summer <a href=\"https:\/\/khmerstudies.org\/programs\/khmer-language-and-culture-program\/\">Khmer language and culture program<\/a>, and a summer <a href=\"https:\/\/khmerstudies.org\/programs\/junior-resident-fellows\/\">junior residence program<\/a>.
