Welcome to the original and traditional music of <i>De Temps Antan<\/i>!<\/p>\n<p>Since 2003, \u00c9ric Beaudry, Andr\u00e9 Brunet and Pierre-Luc Dupuis have been exploring and performing time-honoured melodies from Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s musical past. Using fiddle, accordion, harmonica, guitar, bouzouki and a number of other instruments, our three virtuosos blend boundless energy with the unmistakable joie de vivre found only in traditional Qu\u00e9bec music. So come enjoy an afternoon unlike any other with <i>De Temps Antan<\/i>!<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9ric Beaudry was first exposed to traditional Qu\u00e9bec music in Saint-C\u00f4me, a village in Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s Lanaudi\u00e8re region. Raised by a family entrenched in music, he began singing and playing guitar at the age of 10. In 1992, he unleashed his musical ambitions on local audiences by founding the groups <i>Ni Sarpe Ni Branche<\/i> and <i>Norouet<\/i>. \u00c9ric\u2019s passion for music also helped foster an interest in song, which led to several awards including a 2002 Prix Mn\u00e9mo for his role in producing an album of Gasp\u00e9 fiddler \u00c9douard Richard. In 2003, hot on the heels of this success, \u00c9ric became a member of <i>La Bottine Souriante<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his international touring schedule, \u00c9ric has found time to study the music of his home region of Lanaudi\u00e8re. This rural area of Qu\u00e9bec is the heartland of traditional songs and dances. \u00c9ric\u2019s research has uncovered many beautiful songs and tunes and has taken him throughout the province of Qu\u00e9bec. Jackson School of International Studies and QuebecNW.<\/p>\n<h1><a name=\"beaudry_bio\"><\/a>\u00c9ric Beaudry Bio<\/h1>\n<p><b>\u00c9RIC BEAUDRY<\/b> C\u2019est \u00e0 Saint-C\u00f4me, village de la r\u00e9gion de Lanaudi\u00e8re, qu\u2019\u00c9ric d\u00e9couvre la musique traditionnelle qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise. Influenc\u00e9 par le r\u00e9pertoire familial, il commence \u00e0 chanter et \u00e0 jouer de la guitare d\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e2ge de 10 ans. Il se fait conna\u00eetre en 1992 en tant que membre fondateur du groupe La Galvaude, puis poursuit sa route en cr\u00e9ant deux autres formations, Ni Sarpe Ni Branche et Norouet. Parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 la musique, \u00c9ric s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 la recherche du r\u00e9pertoire traditionnel, ce qui lui vaudra plusieurs prix et distinctions dont le Prix Mn\u00e9mo en 2002 pour le disque Musique gasp\u00e9sienne qu\u2019il a produit pour le violoneux \u00c9douard Richard. En 2003, il se joint \u00e0 La Bottine Souriante, ce qui ne l\u2019emp\u00eache pas, depuis 2002, de mettre \u00e0 profit son exp\u00e9rience et son dipl\u00f4me universitaire en interpr\u00e9tation guitare pop et jazz en enseignant aux \u00e9tudiants du programme de musique traditionnelle du CEGEP r\u00e9gional de Lanaudi\u00e8re, \u00e0 Joliette.
