Marion Ferguson<\/a> joined the Canadian Studies Center in late September as the new manager for the Corbett British Columbia-Washington International Exchange Program<\/a>. Marion has worked for the Jackson School of International Studies for the past year, formerly with the Center for West European Studies and the Ellison Center for Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies. In her new role, Marion is very excited to work closely with students to enhance their international experiences. She hopes to continue to grow the Corbett Exchange Program with a strong focus on underrepresented students and increasing access to international exchange.<\/p>\n

In October, Marion also began the position of program coordinator for the Canadian Studies Center and Arctic & International Relations. She will support the Arctic Studies Minor, build visibility and outreach for the Center, and keep things running smoothly from day to day.<\/p>\n

Marion moved to Seattle in 2015 to study public administration at the UW\u2019s renowned Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. During her time there, she focused on nonprofit management and international development policy. She is originally from the northeast, and previously worked for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Her undergraduate years were split between the University of Massachusetts Boston and the University of Edinburgh in Scotland — where she got her first taste of Canadian studies and learned about the rich history shared between the two countries. She is very excited to join the Canadian Studies team.<\/p>\n

At the Jackson School, Marion can be found in the Canadian Studies office on the fifth\u00a0floor of Thomson Hall. In her free time, she can be found traipsing around Seattle with her lovable hound, Leonard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
