The FLAS permitted him to conduct ethnomusicology research on popular music in Montr\u00e9al, Qu\u00e9bec. He is currently teaching French at a K-8 charter school \u2013 Dekalb Academy of Technology and Environment \u2013 in Atlanta, Georgia where he uses Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois music and media to teach children French while introducing them to Qu\u00e9bec culture.<\/p>\n<p>Cody was a FLAS Fellow in French for the 2006-07 and 2007-08 academic years and for Summer 2007 and 2011. While a graduate student at the University of Washington, he developed a collection for the U.W. Libraries on hip-hop music in Qu\u00e9bec \u2013 <i><a href=\"http:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/canada\/collections\/music_modern.shtml\">Qu\u00e9bec Popular Music<\/a><\/i>\u00a0\u2013 and its connection to identity.<\/p>\n<p><i>Funding for FLAS Fellowships is provided by a Center allocation from <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/programs\/iegpsflasf\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International and Foreign Language Education<\/a>, U.S. Department of Education.<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cody Case (FLAS Fellow, French 2011) discovered his love for French and francophone culture through Canada studies FLAS fellowships.
