In early September, interim director Nadine Fabbi gave the opening talk for the 2023 Program on Climate Change Summer Institute. This year\u2019s institute was titled \u201cClimate Change at the Poles.\u201d Fabbi’s talk titled \u201cInuit Nunaat, Inuit Nunangat and Arctic Policy\u201d addressed how the Arctic is uniquely impacted by climate change and what Inuit have and are doing to influence policy development for the region. The talk specifically focuses on the mapping of Inuit Nunangat and the work of the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami in policy shaping.<\/span><\/p>\n

The annual institute is where faculty, scientists, graduate students, and invited speakers focus on how climate and our physical and human world interact. Each year a new topic, showcasing emerging knowledge and ways in which disciplines intersect, is examined. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
