Robyn, Selma Ford and John Crump \u2013 all at ICC Canada \u2013 co-wrote a paper titled \u201cCommunity responses to the COVID-19 pandemic in Inuit Nunaat.\u201d The paper was just published in<em> Arctic Yearbook 2023 \u2013 Arctic Pandemics: COVID-19 and other Pandemic Experiences and Lessons Learned.<\/em><i><\/i><\/p>\n<p>The paper examines how the COVID-19 pandemic has simultaneously heightened the vulnerability of Inuit communities as well as amplified collective resilience. You can access Arctic Yearbook and a copy of their paper (plus many others) <a href=\"https:\/\/arcticyearbook.com\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Robyn Long, MSW, MA (she\/her) joined Seven Directions at the University of Washington (UW) in October 2022, after having completed a practicum with the organization during her Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Robyn supports research and projects related to environmental and climate change and well-being, including Canoe Journeys, and the Tribal Opioid Overdose Prevention Project.<\/p>\n<p>In her master\u2019s program, Robyn focused on Administration and Policy Practice. As part of her MSW program, she was a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellow through the Canadian Studies Center and interned with the Inuit Circumpolar Council Canada. Prior to pursuing her MSW, Robyn worked on well-being programs and evaluation in the UW Department of Psychology.
