In June, Kevin Turner<\/a> (Brock University, Ontario) spent two weeks in Old Crow, Yukon collecting data on water and peat samples to understand climate change impacts in the region. Brock University recently shared an article about his field work in Old Crow, Yukon.<\/p>\n

Kevin shares more about his time at UW below:<\/p>\n

“The Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Arctic Studies provided many opportunities for enhancing my collaborative initiatives. For example, being located at the UW allowed me to meet more regularly with fellow colleagues involved in research of northern landscape change and impacts. In addition to meeting with people at UW, I was able to easily travel to Fairbanks, Alaska where I met with many leading northern researchers. With all of us dealing with the pandemic during the previous two years, it was especially useful and exciting to come together and generate ideas for ongoing research initiatives. The Pacific Northwest was an amazing place to be situated for activities beyond my research world. In particular, I really enjoyed the mountain biking whenever possible on trails across places including Galbraith (Bellingham), Duthie, Tiger Mountain, Tokul, and Leavenworth. Overall it was a professionally and personally refreshing and rejuvenating experience.”<\/p>\n

The Canadian Studies Center in the Henry M.
