Kayla Stevenson\u00a0<\/span>is a graduate student at the UW\u00a0studying at the School of Marine and Environment Affairs and the Jackson School for International Studies. She received her Bachelor\u2019s in Politics and Government and Environmental Policy and Decision Making from the University of Puget Sound.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kayla is currently\u00a0serving as a Research Assistant for the Navigating the New Arctic grant project, \u201cCo-Designing Civic Education for the Circumpolar North.\u201d In her role she is conducting a program review of Arctic civic education curricula.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her research interests include international relations in the Arctic, and Indigenous climate change adaptation strategies, specifically incorporating Indigenous knowledge systems into policy. Her current project looks at how international policy is related at a localized level in the Inuit territories of Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, Kayla is a collaborator on the Polar Science on a Human Scale capstone project with the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs, focusing on climate adaptation strategies for the city of Kivalina, Alaska.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
