Inuktitut is one of the Inuit languages. Tusaalanga defines Inuktitut as &#8220;the Inuit language as it is spoken in Nunavut.&#8221; [<a href=\"https:\/\/tusaalanga.ca\/node\/2502\">1<\/a>] With nearly 40,000 native speakers, it is the most widely spoken of the Inuit languages. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/north\/inuit-inuktitut-stats-can-2016-census-1.4370876\">2<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/canada\/funding\/flas\/\">Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships<\/a> have allowed students at the University of Washington to study Inuktitut since 2005.
