Canadian Studies major and minor<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

The Jackson School of International Studies offers a major and minor in Canadian Studies \u2013 an interdisciplinary program designed to promote and improve understanding of Canada, its relationship with the United States, and Canada\u2019s major role in the Commonwealth and in the United Nations.<\/p>\n

Canada-related courses are also offered throughout the university. Students should check with individual departments and the online Time Schedule for changes, requirements for enrollment, SNL numbers, location, and updated descriptions.<\/p>\n

Arctic Studies minor<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

This interdisciplinary minor is a joint offering between the Canadian Studies Center and the School of Oceanography, and is part of the UW\u2019s Future of Ice <\/em><\/a>initiative. Undergraduate students will gain skills relevant to addressing major science and policy issues in the Arctic region.<\/p>\n

The University of Washington is proud to be one of the first schools in the nation to offer this minor, which combines the natural and social sciences with the humanities to understand this critical region.<\/p>\n

Internship<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

The Consulate General of Canada, Seattle and University of Washington are opening the Virtual Canada-U.S. Relations International Learning Assignment for Fall 2020. UW undergraduate and graduate students who are either Canadian or dual nationals (U.S.-Canada) with an interest in Canada-U.S. rlations, including political, economic, environmental, border security, defense, cultural and diplomatic elements that make it one of the most important and mutually beneficial bilateral relationships that the world has ever known.<\/p>\n
