This includes <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">basic and applied research of the ice-covered regions on Earth conducted by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/psc.apl.uw.edu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Polar Science Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">; the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/environment.uw.edu\/research\/major-initiatives\/polar-regions\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Polar Initiative<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in the College of the Environment; research and teaching in the social sciences and humanities including courses in the Inuit language hosted by the College of Arts and Science; as well research in other campus units including the Information School.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/research\/ipi\/ipi-arctic\/\">Jackson School Arctic Initiative<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies (Jackson School), College of the Environment, and the Office of Global Affairs host <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/canada\/programs-2\/uw-canada-fulbright-visiting-chair-2\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">UW\u2019s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Fulbright Canada Chair in Arctic Studies<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The Jackson School also offers a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/canada\/programs\/arctic-studies-minor\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">minor in Arctic Studies<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The UW is a proud member of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uarctic.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">University of the Arctic<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> &#8211; a network of universities, colleges, research institutes, and other organizations concerned with education and research about the North.
