At the midpoint of the two-year U.S. Arctic Council Chairmanship, this two-day symposium was co-hosted by the World Policy Institute, Trent University, and the University of Washington.<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0Sept. 19, 2016, the Arctic Council will celebrate its 20th anniversary. This represents an important time for discussions of Arctic policy. While many bemoan the marginalization of indigenous voices in such discussions, non-Arctic nations are increasingly interested in the resources that the Arctic has to offer. As the polar ice caps continue to melt, the policy decisions undertaken by nation-states will have a profound impact on the region for many years to come.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cOne Arctic\u201d discussion combines the many voices of the Arctic in order to understand the position of those involved in the region.
