Arctic in Context is a multimedia web-based platform that provides informed and accessible content to\u00a0a broad audience, from readers with an Arctic expertise to those with a casual curiosity who seek a deeper understanding of Arctic issues. With a holistic view of information sharing, we recognize that the interconnectedness between communities, government and business is critical to the future of the Arctic.<\/p>\n

Erica Dingman is the Founder and Director of Arctic in Context, a multimedia web-based platform which provides an expansive and accessible overview of the Arctic. Between 2010 and 2018, she was a Fellow at the World Policy Institute where she developed their Arctic program. The program was founded to address the informational shortcomings of mass media coverage, in response to the regional challenges and global implications of the changing Arctic environment.<\/p>\n

In 2019, Erica joined Women of the Arctic to launch Aurora, an online platform which champions women and gender equality through a series of interviews inclusive of a wide range of voices.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining WPI, Erica was a research associate at the Lower Manhattan Project, funded by the U.S. Dept. of Energy where she developed knowledge of ecosystems related to energy and environmental security. In her previous career, she was the founder and designer of Tyed Thru Tyme, an avant-garde home and women\u2019s accessory business. Her articles have appeared in various publications including the Arctic Yearbook, Diplomatic Courier, CNN, Al Jazeera <\/em>and, of course, Arctic in Context. She is a member of the University of Washington\u2019s Arctic Initiative Steering Committee and holds a Master\u2019s in International Affairs from from The New School, New York.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
