Please, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/anthropology.washington.edu\/news\/2017\/07\/31\/professor-emeritus-edgar-bud-winans\">the Department of Anthropology website<\/a> for a full story.<\/p>\n<p>In fall 2007 with the support of Professors Edgar Winans and Simon Ottenberg, the African Studies Program\u00a0at the UW established a scholarship to honor their many contributions to the program and to the field of African studies.
