While there is no official graduate studies program available in African Studies at the UW, many students from other disciplines have African as a focus of their research or enhance the international quality of their research by including Africa as a comparative point of analysis. The African Studies Program&#8217;s affiliated graduate students have opportunities to engage in the following activities:<\/p>\n<div id=\"gradient\">\n<div id=\"frame\">\n<div id=\"contentcenter\">\n<div class=\"separator section m-top-zero p-top-forty\">\n<ul>\n<li><b>Africa-Related Events<\/b><br \/>\nGraduate students are invited to participate in all Africa-related events both on campus and in the community. The <a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/africa\/events\/\">events<\/a> section of the website is continually updated with this information. In addition, there is a graduate student list-serve that all interested graduate students are invited to join. Please email <a href=\"mailto:africa1@u.washington.edu\">africa1@uw.edu<\/a> to join this list.<\/li>\n<li><b>Africa-Related Scholarships<\/b><br \/>\nFunding for study and travel abroad can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/studyabroad\/students\/resources\/finances\/scholarships\/\">Study Abroad resources page<\/a>. Another web-based resource of particular interest to Graduate Students with an interest in African Studies is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/africa\/resources\/funding\/\">Funding opportunities <\/a>page\u00a0of this website.
