Jackson School Student Association
The Jackson School Student Association (JSSA) is the student organization for the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington. JSSA aims to provide relevant programming and social opportunities for International Studies majors and minors. We host internationally-focused events, facilitate networking between students and professors, and strive to advance the interests of all Jackson School students.
All Jackson School students are welcome and are encouraged to engage with JSSA events and social media to stay up to date with relevant opportunities. Check out our new Facebook group here.

My name is Jiani Wang and I am a junior double majoring in JSIS with International Political Economy focus and Communication. I am interested in working in the field of management and strategic consulting for private sectors after graduation. This is my pleasure to serve as the president for Jackson School Student Association (JSSA) 2019 – 2020. My team and I are very excited to work with Jackson School to provide more opportunities for students. Please don’t be hesitant to reach out to us if you have any questions or interested in getting involved.

Hi! I am originally from San Luis Obispo California and I am majoring in International Studies. I have a passion for human rights, so I am planning on either minoring in it or choosing human rights as my track within my major. I am super excited for the coming year and I can’t wait to become more involved in the Jackson School and meet other people in my major!
Hi my name is Sydney and I am the Financial Director for JSSA this year. I will be applying to join the Jackson School this winter and I hope to follow the human rights track. I am originally from both Bellingham, Washington and Roseville, California. My favorite color is blue and my favorite animal is an elephant. This year I am really excited to meet new people in the Jackson School!
My name is Mia and I’m a third year JSIS student with a foreign policy focus. I grew up as a military child so I always have a hard time answering “where are you from?”. But because of my military child background, the constant moving allowed me to connect to many different people, perspectives and cultures which I thought I could expand my knowledge of and practice through a JSIS major. Fun fact, I’ve lived in 12 different cities!!
