BLAIR, Heather Sp 00 Heather Blair specializes in the religious culture of early medieval Japan. Before receiving her PhD from Harvard, she completed graduate work in Buddhist and religious studies at Columbia and the University of Washington. She is particularly interested in the creation and maintenance of sacred places and lay religious practices. At present, she is working on "Peak of Gold," a book manuscript that focuses on devotion and politics at a sacred mountain called Kinpusen in the 11th and 12th centuries.
