Because of the interdisciplinary nature of our program, courses comprising the Latin American and Caribbean Studies major and minor are offered through a wide range of departments across the UW campuses. We also have courses each quarter taught by JSIS faculty, which can be found under the prefix/course numbers: JSIS, JSIS A, and JSIS B.
For a full listing of courses that may or will receive LACS credit, click here. Additional courses could receive credit but you must consult an adviser to ensure you follow the proper procedures.
The UW time schedule is the definitive authority on course offerings and scheduling. The information below is provided for your convenience, please confirm all information on the time schedule.
LACS credit can also be earned through study abroad. Numerous study abroad options are available throughout the year, and students are strongly encouraged to research and take advantage of these opportunities. LACS students planning on studying abroad should consult the LACS adviser well before selecting a program or departing to discuss what coursework completed abroad will apply toward the LACS program requirements.
