Code of Conduct for CHID International Programs

The Comparative History of Ideas program expects our international programs to be uniquely educational and positively transformative experiences for all participants. Participants have responsibilities to each other, as a community of learning, and to their hosts, as representatives of the University of Washington, to engage in appropriate conduct. As such, the Comparative History of Ideas program maintains this code of conduct:

Participants who fail to observe this code of conduct may be dismissed from the program.

Terms of Participation

If you are accepted to this program, you will be notified by email, and given a one week to decline participation. If you do not decline, you will be subject to the following financial terms: A $300 non-refundable deposit fee (counted toward the total program fee) will be assessed to your student account. Two months prior to the start of the program, a second payment of $500 will be assessed. The remainder of the program fee will be assessed in the first week of the program. Students withdrawing from the program 60 days prior to the start of the program will be refunded the remainder of the program payments. Students withdrawing from the program during the final 60 days before the start of the program are responsible for their portion of any unrecoverable payments. There is no possible refund after the start of the program. Notice of withdrawal must be made in writing to both CHID and the Office of International Programs and Exchanges.
