Summer 2011 Tribal Canoe Journey: Ivan and Leandro represented the Pankararú and Pataxó indigenous peoples of Brazil in this year's Tribal Canoe Journey in the Pacific Northwest. Click on the hypertext for photos and video.
DIVERCITY: The University of Washington, Seattle is the proud recipients of one of the more competitive grants offered by the Federal government, the FIPSE (Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education) grant. The 4-year grant encourages undergraduate and graduate student exchange to consortium partners in Brazil. The four universities of this bilateral consortium are the following: Universidade Federal da Bahia in Salvador, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Florida International University in Miami and the University of Washington in Seattle. The program allows students from the United States and Brazil to become knowledgeable in the area of comparative urban studies while working toward completing their degree at their home country.
