Courses comprising the Latin American Studies major and minor are offered in different departments across campus. Typically, few courses are offered each quarter using the "SISLA" (Latin American Studies) prefix/course number. Yet many courses that apply to the major and minor are offered each quarter by other departments and programs.
The links below will help you determine what courses at the UW count towards the LAS major and minor (and the specific requirements of each) and allow you to search by department, quarter, or quickly see what is being offered next quarter. Please be advised that the UW time schedule is the definitive authority on course offerings and scheduling.
LAS credit can also be earned through study abroad. Numerous study abroad options are available throughout the year, and students are strongly encouraged to research and take advantage of these opportunities. LAS students planning on studying abroad should consult the LAS adviser well before selecting a program or departing to discuss what coursework completed abroad will apply toward the LAS program requirements.
