The Jewish Studies Program invites scholarship and travel grant applications for the 2009-2010 academic year from current UW students (both undergrad and grad) who include coursework or research in Jewish studies as a significant part of their academic program. There are four scholarships available at a value of $3,000 each and three travel grants at $1,500 each.

There are four scholarships ($3,000 each) intended to encourage and recognize outstanding undergraduate and graduate students who include coursework or research in Jewish studies at the University of Washington as a significant part of their academic program. To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled at the University of Washington and are expected to pursue such work during the 2009-2010 academic year. Scholarship award recipients are asked to submit a brief report at the end of the academic year to the Jewish Studies Program and are strongly encouraged to attend the annual Awards and Recognition Reception in the spring.

Candidates may be invited for a brief interview with the scholarship committee. Award decisions will be made by mid-May.

Jewish Studies Program Travel Grants
Application Deadline (postmarked by): March 6, 2009
The Jewish Studies Program invites travel grant applications for the 2009-2010 academic year from current UW students (both undergrad and grad) who include coursework or research in Jewish studies as a significant part of their academic program. There are three travel grants at $1,500 each.
The grants are open to students who plan to study abroad at an institution of higher learning or approved study-abroad program during summer 2009 and/or the 2009/2010 academic year as part of their coursework or research in Jewish studies.
Travel Grant award recipients are asked to write a brief report to the Jewish Studies Program about their study abroad experience and are strongly encouraged to attend the annual Awards and Recognition Reception in the spring.
