UW Japan Studies Program

Alumni Centennial and Award Reception October 23, 2009

The 2009 centennial coincided with the program receiving the 2009 Japanese Foreign Minister’s Award. The Foreign Minister’s Award recognizes the Japan Studies Program and calls the program “a pioneering institution in the US study of Japan and Japanese.” It also praises the multidisciplinary nature of a program which engages students and teachers from departments across campus. We wish to thank all friends, students, faculty, and alumni who have made the program the success it is today!  Click on the slideshow to view the gallery.
