In partnership
with the Asia Outreach Centers and the Center for
Global Studies of the Jackson School of
International Studies, Exploring Arts of Asia will highlight a
variety of rich performing arts traditions of Asia
from the Silk Road, Arab Music, Pakistan, Indonesia,
Vietnam, the Republic of Tuva and the Uyghur People.
The performances will be complemented by teacher
workshops, lectures and an article series and
curriculum guide with the Seattle Times Newspaper in
Education program.
Exploring Asia
is a four year series exploring different topics
each year. The 2006/2007 series focus was Childhood
and Youth culture; 2008/2009 will deal with Global
Health and 2009/2010 will focus on the Environment.
