  • One JSIS 200-level and either ECON 200 or 201 must be completed before applying to the major.
  • Core and Track elective courses may be taken any quarter, before or after declaring the major, provided pre-requisites are already met.
  • Specific core & track courses are usually taught only once a year.
  • JSIS 498, open only to declared majors, may be taken any quarter after major declared.
  • The Qualifying Paper must be completed before taking JSIS 495. [Winter 2012: this requirement suspended for those taking Task Force Win 13 or after]
  • JSIS 200, 201, 202, & JSIS B 330 must be completed before taking JSIS 495.
  • Two years of language may be completed prior to declaring major.
  • Foreign Study credits may count for language and some track coursework.
  • Transfer students may wish to take 1st year language and ECON courses before transferring.  JSIS 200-202 are also available at Bellevue, Shoreline, and Edmonds Community Colleges in the Seattle area.
  • Intensive first or second year Foreign Language sequences are also offered in summer quarter.
